Liam's 5th

This cute boy was so excited to finally turn 5!
-Liam has a wonderful imagination! His kindergarten teacher even commented that he has a hard time turning it off in class. But playing with him is always super fun!
-On that note, he loves to make people laugh! I will not be at all surprised to learn he is the class clown.
-He has, unfortunately, discovered and loves all the potty humor. Farts, poop, and butts... I guess it was inevitable...
-So far, he is the most clumsy of my children. Is it bad that I think it's funny? He often runs into stationary objects and trips over nothing. But that could be attributed to his growth spurts. He is the youngest in his class, but nowhere near the shortest.
-Liam is friends with everyone he meets! He's sweet, funny, polite, and everyone loves him.
-He hates to be even slightly uncomfortable, and that includes most clothing. Socks and shoes are basically torture for him, and he would probably be most happy in his birthday suit!
-His favorite color is green, his favorite song is "I am a Child of God", and his favorite food is lasagna.
-Liam is still a mommy's boy, but whenever we pick teams or partners he wants to be with dad "because we're buddies", he says. And they have a special goodnight "kiss-bonk" where they kiss each other's foreheads and then bonk their heads together. Hilarious!

He's obsessed with dinosaurs! And this is how he smiles now...

This was our first store-bought birthday cake. Half of our house was packed up, Paul had already started his new job 300 miles away, and we were hard core house hunting, so I didn't feel bad about it. Liam had a great birthday, and that's all that matters!
Love this boy!

august

We continue our "Goodbye to Charlottesville" tour with a visit to the Discovery Museum:

And then a trip to visit Grandma King and Alissa's & Hilary's families at our half-way point, Danville:

They really liked the butterfly garden. They just didn't want to take a picture.

We went swimming as much as we could, and Gavin was in heaven! He loves being in the water so much; there was even a scary few seconds when he thought he could swim so jumped in the water by himself! He was fine, and went right back to swimming when he got his floaty on.

The kids had a routine dentist appointment. Liam wasn't scared at all, but litte-mommy Jenna insisted on holding his hand anyway. I love how protective she is over her little brothers!

Solar eclipse 2017! We had fun making these cereal box viewers. Our neighbors had the official glasses and let us use them for a bit, but everyone thought the boxes were the coolest!

Finally, the much anticipated first day of school:

4th Grade and Kindergarten!

Liam's first ride on the bus. He was pretty excited!

AND the second day of school, because... weird smiles.
