phoebE or phoebO ???

I got the most wonderful birthday present this morning! We got to go to the doctor and found out we're having a healthy little baby...

BOY!

Yay! We are so excited!
And the ultrasound was amazing! Jenna's was on an older machine, so I couldn't really tell what was going on. But we could see EVERYTHING on this little guy! And he was moving around like crazy! They almost made us come in again because he wouldn't sit still to measure his spine. It was so cool to see him moving and stretching and flipping all over the place! I'm in love already!

Jenna wasn't surprised in the least. She has been saying all along that she is going to have a brother and a sister, but the brother first. Maybe she knows something we don't... We've tried to stop ourselves, but we've been calling this baby "him" the whole time. I'm glad we can do it for real now!

p.s. Ten points if you know where I got this post's title ;)
p.p.s. Don't worry, we will not be naming him Pheobo :)
p.p.p.s Did you notice on the ultrasound that they spelled our last name wrong? People don't even get it right when they are copying it! *sigh*

Pregnancy brain #1

I say #1, because lets face it, I'll probably have many more occurances just like these:

A couple of weeks ago, while having a conversation with my in-laws, I could not for the life of me remember if we have been married 4 years or 5...

One day, literally 30 seconds after I went potty, I couldn't remember if I had gone already or not...

Yesterday I looked all over the house for 10 minutes looking for my keys, and then realized they were in my hand...

Today I couldn't remember how many days are in a year! It was especially frustrating because I knew it was something that everyone knows. I eventually thought of 356 but couldn't figure out why it sounded wrong...

:) I love being pregnant!

"slow Sunday"

After church on Sundays, our Bishop gives a small piece of candy to the children who come and tell him what they learned in class. Except on Fast Sunday.

After class yesterday, Jenna asked us "Is it Fast Sunday or slow Sunday today?"

Hahaha! So funny!

I'm glad she understands opposites, but we may need to go over fasting again...  :)

Easter eggs

Jenna calls it the "Egg Game"!

Such a fun tradition! I don't really remember dying eggs while growing up, so it's fun to start this new tradition with our growing family!

Update!

Yowzas! Of course I know that every pregnancy can be different, but I didn't realize how different they can be! My first trimester with Jenna was a day at the beach compared to this little sucker. I hope that's not an indication of the baby's temperament... Probably not.
Well, I have finally entered that blissful time we like to call Second Trimester! *Cue Hallelujah Chorus*
Now I'm getting back to a normal routine, and looking forward to feeling the baby soon and finding out the gender! Woohoo!

I thought I'd give a quick recap of what we've been doing for the past month or so:

SUPER BOWL:

Since Paul's company does the Colt's Stadium, he got to fly to Indianapolis for the week to help out with Super Bowl! Pretty cool, huh? They worked him pretty hard right up until the game, but then he got to enjoy himself. He took a few pictures with his phone:

The confetti right after the Giants won!

Jenna and I went to a Super Bowl party at a friend's house. I made some red and blue snacks for the Giants, but then I realized those are the Patriot's colors as well. Oh well, Go Giants!

ST. PATTY'S DAY:

I couldn't bear the thought of making green food this year, but we had a fun Primary Activity in the morning:

What a cute Leprechaun! Oops, I put her mustache on upside-down.

And that afternoon we went to the...

CIRCUS:

This was Jenna's and her friend Huck's faces for the entire pre-show clown act:

I was really surprised when the dancers called all the kids up to learn a routine that she actually went! I was not surprised that she just stood there and watched, though. She's becoming more like us: so shy!

It was Paul's first circus, and it didn't disappoint! His favorite part was when they shot a man out of a giant crossbow, and right before shooting him lit him on FIRE! A pleasant surprise! Jenna and my favorite part was the elephants. Before the show we got to see one up close, and she got so excited every time they came out!

CONFERENCE WEEKEND:

We drove down to South Carolina again for General Conference Weekend. It's just so much fun to spend it with family, even if it is harder to get Jenna to pay attention when there are so many people (and dogs) to play with!
 And a new paint set:

We celebrated a few birthdays:

Checked the new beehives for honey (a new favorite for Jenna):

Helped prune the grape vines:

Can you tell it was a pajama kind of weekend?  :)

And got a new pet caterpillar:

We even brought him home with us!
p.s. Eric Carle totally lied to us: he is NOT a hungry caterpillar, and will NOT eat anything...

We also played some frisbee golf and I tried my very first egg salad sandwich! Not bad.

Jenna slept in the room her three little cousins stayed in last month when they visited. We didn't realize that they had installed a child-proof handle on the inside. When Paul woke up the first morning, he could hear her in there talking to herself, and when he opened the door she said "Daddy! I was so stuck!". So funny, and so cute!

One evening Jenna stayed with her two aunts while the rest of us went to see the Hunger Games. When we got back, she had fallen asleep and was NOT happy to be woken up and put in her car seat! Let's just say I'm pretty sure she scared her aunts and uncles into waiting a couple more years to have kids!  :)
