Phobia!

Call me a wuss, if you must, but I just DON'T CARE...

Every once in a while, Paul gets to come home to find this:

I don't even have to say anything - He knows exactly what it means:

A spider! (or some other multi-legged little terror!) Ick - even as I type this I am checking the ceiling, walls and floor all around me. *shudder*

The extra cup is just for good measure. You never know when you'll trap a genetically altered super-spider with the strength the lift a single cup right up!

This is a TOTALLY rational fear!

Thanks, Paul, for protecting us from the arachnids! You're my hero!

Young Love <3

This was a long time ago (when Jenna was still hitting her head on her crib! - see the bruise) but it's just too cute not to post!

Winter Wonderland

Winter is finally winding down... I hope!
And we finally made our first snowman! We call him Parson Brown:

It was NOT cold! But the snow was perfect for building!

Yes, he has hair and eyebrows!

Jenna was scared of him at first...

Earlier this winter, when it was still cold:

I really like this picture!

All bundled up!

Nice snow angel, huh?
...and yes, Adam, das ist ein frozen butt!

What do Giraffes say?

Not pictured: monkey and moose

We have these adorable animal finger puppets, and Jenna LOVES to play with them. She especially likes when we do what each animal "says".
It goes like this:

The frog says: RIBBIT

The parrot says: SQUAWK

The duck says: QUACK

The bear says: GRRRR

The elephant says: *press lips together and blow loudly*

The giraffe says:

The panda says:

The moose says:

Hmmmm.... what the heck do giraffes and pandas and moose say???
Jenna's gonna think that her parents aren't very smart if they don't know what noises all the animals make, so we need a solution!

I read somewhere that giraffes have blue tongues. So, we decided this is what giraffes say now:

And ideas for the rest???

Hamster

I was just looking at random blogs the other day, and I came across a picture of Jenna!
I know, I was weirded out, too!

Check it out:

Haha! Ok, I'm obviously joking.

But seriously, this is what Jenna looks like for about an hour after the occasional meal. Cheeks stuffed with food. I do NOT know why. She says she's "all done" and then when I take her tray off, she has to grab one more piece of cracker or carrot or *gross* meat, and sucks on it for a good long time... wierd.

Vegas Vay-Cay!

A great big thanks to Paul's Dad for the awesome suite at the Hilton right on the strip!
Here are our Vegas Vacation Top 12 Highlights:

12. Our traditional book on CD for the drive: Ender's Game. We started it as soon as we pulled out of our driveway, and it finished on our street on the way back! Is that perfect or what?!

11. Our hotel room. Wow. I think Paul got annoyed at how I kept saying I wish I could live there! You can check out pictures here. My favorite part was the shower with four shower heads that massaged your whole body! Jenna loved to look out the window - we were so high up that my ears literally POPPED on the way up the elevator!

10. Walking down the ENTIRE strip! That's right, I've got the blisters to prove it!

Jenna, on the other hand, got to take it easy the whole time!

That's the Trump Tower in the background!

Paris!

Lots of cool-looking fountains

The gardens at Caesar's

Jenna pooped out way before we did!

9. Jenna waved at everyone she saw, and absolutely NOONE waved back! Not even the grandmas! It made us sad, and made Paul miss the Southern hospitality even more...

8. The Bellagio Fountain. A must-see on the strip.

7. Giant Fish at Caesar's Forum.

Jenna loved watching them swim around

6. We only did one buffet, but it was BIG... and GOOD!... and expensive (where are all those $.99 buffets you see in the movies???)

5. Unfortunately, it rained on Saturday when we were planning on taking Jenna swimming, so instead we just went swimming in the Tub!

4. Panera! My absolute FAVORITE place to eat. There are not many in the west, so I HAD to find one while we were there! I've decided that when I'm old I'm going to start a book club, and we're going to meet at Panera every week! Yum...

3. M&M World! Come on, Need I say more...?

Polishing Jenna's "outer candy shell"

Hahaha! The M&M is writing "I will not melt in the hand"

Paul liked the M&M Racecar

We got Jenna an M&M straw cup and she had so much fun with it!

2. Our livingroom TV was Possessed! Seriously. It kept turning itself on! The first time it happened, we thought maybe the maid was watching the TV and left it on, but then it happened several times while Jenna was sleeping! We finally unplugged the sucker. If it had turned on after that, we would have been switching rooms!

1. Relaxing! We watched a movie from the tub (Paul's request), I kicked butt at pool (because of a slight technicality in my favor) and we lounged around the rest of the time. It was great to just spend time together and not have to worry about work or cleaning the house!

P.S. Today Jenna turns 11 months old! I can't believe I almost have a 1-year old!

Yes, that is a 3-6 month size sleeper.
I'm living every mom's fantasy: my baby stayed little and cuddly!
