McClure Adventure!

Paul's sister and her family came to visit for 5 days, and boy did we have an adventure!

Day 1 & 2: Exploring D.C.

Paul and I are pretty much professional tour guides by now, so we showed them the exciting sites and a couple museums her three little boys would enjoy:

Eli kissing Jenna's hand. These two were instant buddies!

Cooling off in the fountain. It was a HOT day!

Yowzas!

Jenna said she was being a fossil...

She always wanted to be next to one of the boys.

We were excited to see the Spirit of St. Louis! Can't you tell?!

I think it's so funny that the Washington Monument and the Capital Building always look so close together in pictures. Trust me, they're NOT!

Day 3: Hill Cumorah Pageant

I was so impressed that Jenna watched the entire thing! She was asking questions pretty much the entire time, too. She got pretty upset when Abinadi was burned to death and during the turmoil following Christ's death. It was so fun to see the Book of Mormon stories we've been reading come to life!

Day 4: The Sacred Grove and Smith Farm

After church, we explored the Sacred Grove and tried talking to the kids about Joseph Smith. The heat was not on our side, so we couldn't stay too long! It was still a wonderful experience!

Since we had 4 kids and 4 adults, Paul was often pushing one of the boys. Once when he was with Eli, a man asked "does he get his curly hair from you or your wife?" Paul laughed and said "from his dad" pointing to Nick!

We drove by the temple on our way out. Always a beautiful site!

Day 5: New York City

We were lucky to meet up with a friend of Nick and Alissa's from BYU, and she gave us a real New York experience (as much as you can in one day with 4 little kids!). We would have been so lost without her!

same expression? hahaha!

Times Square. Is it weird that I thought it was smaller than I expected?!

Lunch!
Dessert! Jenna wouldn't even try rice pudding, so she fed a very willing Eli!
9-11 Memorial

It was fun to see the temple, right in the middle of all the action! It must be such a drastic difference coming out of there!

Asleep... while eating fishies.

Our last stop was relaxing in Central Park!

For about twenty minutes during the day, we gave Jenna the camera. Here's NYC from a 3 year old's perspective:
...some ground shots...

homeless?

There were a lot of bum shots! Hey, that's what she sees all day!

???

Wall Street!
She really wanted a picture of that "guy"

The week was a whirlwind, but so much fun! Literally ten seconds after the McClures left, Jenna said that she missed them (even though she wouldn't even say goodbye!). We can't wait to see you guys again!

Wow, that was a long post... I think I need a nap!
