Liam did really great on the drives! I had to squeeze in the back between the two car seats for about half of the time, but we only had to stop twice both ways. It probably helps that we left at 4am, and that Jenna is an awesome sister!
We enjoyed watching Conference, making s'mores, playing with the babies, resting, and playing games.
Before everyone left Paul's mom got out her Resurrection Easter eggs, which was awesome since I haven't made a set for our family yet. Such a fun weekend!
Interesting story: A couple weeks ago, we saw the trailer for that new Jackie Robinson movie. I said to Paul "Man, it must stink for the second black man in baseball, cause it was just as hard for him and no one knows who he is!"
Well, apparently his name is Larry Doby, and he's from Paul's mom's town! She even knows the lady who just made a statue of Doby!
From Wikipedia:
The New York Times
wrote, "In glorifying those who are first, the second is often
forgotten...Larry Doby integrated all those American League ball parks
where Jackie Robinson never appeared. And he did it with class and
clout." During the 1997
season, when the long-departed Jackie Robinson's number 42 was being
retired throughout baseball, and the still-living Doby was being
virtually ignored by the media, an editorial in Sports Illustrated
pointed out that Doby had to suffer the same indignities that Robinson
did, and with nowhere near the media attention and implicit support.
